Signs trauma is still shaping your present

Avoiding people, places, or feelings that bring it back
Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected from your own body
A harsh inner voice tracing back to early experiences
Anger or irritability that flares up fast

Understanding trauma

When the past bleeds into the present

It's not just the event that stays with you, it's the meaning your nervous system attached to it in that moment. When an experience is too overwhelming to process at the time, that meaning can get stuck, sometimes frozen at the exact age it happened. A small trigger years later can bring all of it rushing back at once, overriding your reactions, or getting in the way of decision making and behaviour.

You may have had the experience of talk therapy, and understand where your trauma is coming from, but still feel stuck reliving it. EMDR bypasses that story and works with the brain and nervous system directly, so what's frozen can finally move.

Healing is possible, and faster than you might expect. Most people begin to feel a difference within 8–10 sessions.

Our Approach

Working at the pace your nervous system sets

We start by helping your nervous system find some stability, since reprocessing hard material works best once your system feels safe. EMDR's bi-lateral stimulation lets your brain work through specific memories until they lose their grip. We draw on somatic work and parts/ego-state work, so the process reaches your body and the mind together.

Sessions build gradually, stabilization comes before reprocessing
Works alongside talk therapy or support you're already using
Progress is measured in what's actually changed
New beliefs about yourself that hold up outside therapy
